Back to spring and summer racing and that means back to blogging more (our resident blogger is also a teacher). Today we timed a great set of races at the Navarino Nature Center in the Clintonville/Navarino, Wisconsin area. Marathon starters were greeted with a brisk, 40 degree sunshine, but most enjoyed 50-60 degrees at the finish. As always, Great Lakes Endurance put on a great race- including the Wisconsin cheese that was awarded to the top three in each age group. See you at their next race in July!

Thanks to the Superiorland Ski Club for putting on an amazing race! This was our largest event to date and it has always been near and dear to our hearts. Sam Jr. grew up with the club and this race supports it’s youth programs. There was fantastic weather; even though rain loomed in the forecast, it held off with temperatures in the high 60′s. Thanks also to Carrie Pearson for the race photos. See you next year!

Even the most seasoned runner would have been daunted by the rains we encountered upon arriving in Paradise, MI for the Tahqua, but the running gods were with us this morning. Conditions were sunny, muddy, and in the mid-80′s- the perfect day for a trail running adventures. Many runners took advantage of the river after the race and were able to see the falls at a much slower pace. A big thanks goes out to Jeff Crumbaugh from Great Lakes Endurance for putting on another environmentally friendly, fun race!

25 Km Results
What a way to wrap up a wonderful weekend! Congrats to Karl Walczak of Houghton, MI and Amy Hauswirth of Hancock, MI who were the overall winners of all three races! Karl, you state will be corrected on the results as soon as possible. Thanks again to all who came out and raced.
Karl felt so good after the 25k; he dropped and gave us 50 pushups!
Hill Climb Results
Despite the winds, the hill climb was the perfect end to a beautiful day. 101 finishers made the 5.6k summit overlooking Eagle Harbor. Even our staff made their way to the top, either biking most of the way or running. This race is unique in the sense there is no way for cars to get to the top, so we use smaller electronic equipment in order to get times quickly and accurately. Results were complete for the race before most of the racers finished their walk down. If you have never experienced any races put on by Great Lakes Endurance, you are missing out!
